On June 14, I presented the FutureTDM and Openminted projects, in which LIBER is a partner, at the Member State Expert Group on Digitisation and Digital Preservation meeting in Luxembourg. I was asked to talk about Text and Data Mining techniques using Cultural Heritage data, since large Cultural Heritage datasets have become available through digitisation.
With a background as historian, this is one of my favorite topics, since there are so many interesting things happening in this field nowadays. The tipping point of data being available is reached and there are lots of interesting research projects using text and data mining in the humanities and social sciences at the moment.
It was a great opportunity to talk about what is being done with all the digitized datasets, and to show what is being done in the field of TDM.
