In other words, we need you!
Throughout the year, FutureTDM will be actively engaging with organisations who have an interest in text and data mining (TDM), be they researchers, developers, funders, publishers, from library organisations or SMEs …the list goes on. Our aim is to hear the experience on the ground – how effective is the current text and data mining environment and what needs to be improved? To do this we will be seeking feedback from the TDM community both online and through a range of events. We will be mapping the legal, technical, economic and research environment, finding out about barriers experienced by those involved in data analytics.
Knowledge Cafés
Our Knowledge Cafés are now in full swing and run until July 2016. They are being held across Europe. Keep an eye on the events and blog sections of the FutureTDM website for more about these informal talking shops. Upcoming dates include Portoroz in May, Berlin and Helsinki in June and Brussels in July (with more still to be announced). The Brussels cafe will form part of a larger FutureTDM workshop where our progress will be presented and we will hear from experts in the field about what needs to change to improve uptake of TDM in the EU.
Other Ways to Get Involved
As well as getting involved by attending our events, TDM stakeholders can also sign up to our newsletter, fill in our online survey (coming soon) and contribute to our FutureTDM blogs – either by submitting a guest blog or feeding back in the blog comments section. All this information gets fed in to our on-going expert analysis and the TDM Hub.
Coming soon at www.futuretdm.eu the Hub represents a content mining ‘one stop shop’ for all you need to know about best practice, policy and legal analysis and collaborating with others.. The Hub’s focus is empowering stakeholders and finding ways to improve TDM uptake in the EU.
We are very excited about the potential of FutureTDM . Our community makes us even stronger, so help us to help you, get on board!
